Of course, the whole project won the award, not just us: architects, contractors and every person involved in this extraordinary adventure. But for us, who obviously provided the materials, it was really an unexpected result! It was 2015 and NY Public Library project involved the construction of a seven-floor library within an existing courtyard with original marble walls, used in the past by horses and carriages. When we knew we were the ones supposed to provide the amazing Imperial Danby to complete the project, we were no longer in the skin. The result? The fusion of the old and the new stones really produced a spectacular effect!
To put it in the words of the judges:
“This unique project presented formidable logistical and construction challenges, which we believe have been successfully honored with a very beautiful result”.
